About GRADIF-K Foundation:
Grassroots Development Initiatives Foundation-Kenya (GRADIF-K) is a Public National Community Development Foundation supporting the improvement of life of disadvantaged and marginalized community groups in selected poverty stricken and resource scarce areas in Kenya focusing more on rural areas and urban slums. To promote effectiveness, wide reach and sustainability of projects/programs, GRADIF-K works with organized, legally registered community groups and institutions of learning in the implementation of age-appropriate, rights based, gender sensitive, cultural responsive and environmentally friendly community based poverty reduction programs. All of the GRADIF-K programs are geared towards making contribution to the Kenya’s Vision 2030 goals, realization of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Education for All (EFA), all in contribution to improvement of life of communities and for the realization of the wellbeing of children in the targeted counties in Kenya. The key broad areas of our work include; Governance and Citizen Participation, Social Protection, Promotions of Economic Livelihoods for the marginalized groups and Organizational development for CBOs, other grassroots groups and GRADIF-K organization.
Location of our Offices
The organization has a National and Operations Coordination office in Nairobi located at the Deep Blue Plaza, 3rd floor, Kahawa Wendani opposite Kahawa Barracks and a few meters drive to Kenyatta University on Thika Super-Highway. Most activities of GRADIF-K are concentrated in Nairobi, Rift Valley, Eastern, Central and Coast regions in Kenya. We have field offices located at Chuka town serving Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties respectively, Mweiga Market serving Nyeri, Laikipia and Isiolo Counties. In Coast Province, we are hosted by Forum for Orphans, Malindi and Trace-Kenya in Kwale districts respectively. GRADIF-K has established strong and cordial working relationships with Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Self Help groups, Learning institutions; Faith based organizations and farmers societies in every supported county to cut down the expenses on running many offices.
